The convergence of recent advances in nanotechnology with modern biology and medicine has created the exciting new research field of nanobiotechnology. This year's nanoUtah 2008 conference will emphasize nanomedicine- the use of nanobiotechnology in medicine. Held at the premier medical institute in the Intermountain West, the conference will bring the state's university nanoscience and engineering communities together with biomedical scientists and clinicians. This event will provide participants with important networking opportunities on nanotechnology-based approaches to medicine.

We seek your involvement in any of the following areas:

  • SHORT OVERVIEWS: Utah researchers, businesses, and students may present a five-minute overview of their unique capabilities and problems needing nanoscience and engineering solutions, with the potential of facilitating collaboration opportunities for further research, partnered development, and potential commercialization.
  • POSTER SESSION: Presenters are encouraged to prepare posters to facilitate face-to-face interactions following oral presentations. Student entries are especially encouraged for our successful student poster competition.
  • EXHIBITION BOOTHS: Businesses and research centers may exhibit their unique products and facilities.
  • SPONSORSHIP: If you are interested in participating as a sponsor, please contact Tapas Kar (tapas.kar@usu.edu) or Ian Harvey (IRHarvey@eng.utah.edu).
