Mini Cleanroom Opening

Although saving fanfare until completely moved in, the Utah Nanofab staff were all pleased to pass a significant milestone on Sept. 12, 2013: welcoming the first researchers into the new USTAR cleanroom. This mini-opening involved the beginning of research photolithography operations in the new facility, marked by superior capabilities for spinning photoresist and for developing and etching masks. Additional capabilities will continue coming online through October and November, including transferred wet etch, as well as new LPCVD and DRIE. Funding for completion of the infrastructure and transfer of remaining Merrill Engineering Building functions is still being sought.
