Member Signup Overview

Our member signup page will guide you through the following steps to obtain access to the nanofab. For your reference, we have outlined what the steps are below:

Campus User

  1. Click the New Member Signup link above to complete the online application process.

    • Once the application has been approved, lab members will be entered into the card system, including project(s) for billing. 
  2. Read, understand, and agree to abide by the policies in the SMBB Lab User Guide.
  3. Complete the Nanofab Safety and Orientation training.  Register here.
    NOTE:  A User Setup Fee is charged for all new members. Please refer to the Billing Rates Page for the current fee.  
  4. Take the online Safety Test.

    • Upon passing the safety test, card access to the cleanroom is automatically given.
    • Access hours to the lab are determined by training level and user status.
    • All members are required to attend a Safety & Policy Training Workshop once each year.
  5. For tool-specific training, contact the tool owner.

Off-Campus User

  1. Click the New Member Signup link above to complete the online application process.
  2. Complete and submit an Indemnification Form.

    • Once the application has been approved and the Indemnification Form received, lab members will be entered into the card system, including project(s) for billing. 
  3. Read, understand, and agree to abide by the policies in the SMBB Lab User Guide.
  4. Complete the Nanofab Safety and Orientation training.  Register here.
    NOTE:  A User Setup Fee is charged for all new members. Please refer to the Cleanroom Billing Rates for the current fee.  A new member will also be provided and charged for a Nanofab Access Card.
  5. Take the online Safety Test.

    • Upon passing the safety test, card access to the cleanroom is automatically given.
    • Access hours for non-University laboratory users is 8a.m.- 5p.m (Monday – Friday, excluding holidays and Campus Closure Days).
    • All members are required to attend a Safety & Policy Training Workshop once each year.
